Responsibilities

  • Innovation Strategy Development:
    • Lead the development of a comprehensive innovation strategy to support the government’s objectives and encourage private sector alignment.
    • Identify areas for technological advancement and innovation in line with national economic and development goals.
    • Develop and implement frameworks that assess and benchmark innovation progress.
  • Digital Transformation Leadership:
    • Guide digital transformation efforts, creating processes that improve service delivery, operational efficiency, and citizen engagement.
    • Collaborate with IT, data management, and external vendors to design and deploy digital solutions.
    • Evaluate and implement new technologies such as AI, IoT, blockchain, and big data to optimize processes across the public and private sectors.
  • Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Cultivate partnerships with private sector organizations, academic institutions, and research centers to foster a culture of innovation.
    • Engage with government agencies, NGOs, and private entities to align efforts, share best practices, and build collaborative innovation programs.
    • Represent the organization at conferences, industry events, and in cross-sector networks to advocate for innovation agendas.
  • Program Management and Execution:
    • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of innovation programs and projects across sectors.
    • Develop KPIs, monitor progress, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, ensuring that initiatives align with regulatory standards and organizational goals.
  • Research and Trends Analysis:
    • Conduct research and monitor global trends in technology and innovation, assessing their potential impact on local and national sectors.
    • Advise executive leadership on strategic opportunities for innovation-driven growth and improvement.
    • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on findings, including recommendations for policy adaptations and new initiatives.
  • Policy and Framework Development:
    • Work with government bodies to develop policies and regulatory frameworks that facilitate innovation and technology adoption.
    • Ensure compliance with national guidelines and regulations, advising on necessary adjustments to maintain alignment with global standards.
    • Provide expert insight to shape public policies, standards, and guidelines that promote sectoral innovation.
  • Budget and Resource Management:
    • Prepare and manage the innovation budget, allocating resources effectively to maximize impact.
    • Develop funding proposals and identify alternative funding sources to support innovation initiatives.
    • Track expenses and ensure efficient use of resources to achieve innovation targets.
  • Talent Development and Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor a team of innovation professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Identify training and development needs, offering resources that promote upskilling and knowledge sharing.
    • Encourage cross-departmental collaboration to enhance the team’s effectiveness and innovation capabilities.

    Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in Innovation, Business Administration, Public Administration, Technology, or a related field.
    • 10+ years of experience in innovation management, strategic consulting, digital transformation, or a related role.
    • Proven track record of leading successful innovation initiatives, preferably in both government and private sectors.
    • Strong understanding of emerging technologies, including AI, IoT, big data, and digital platforms.
