Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of field programs, ensuring timely and high-quality implementation of activities in line with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor field staff, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure staff are equipped to deliver on program objectives. Conduct regular performance evaluations and foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities, leaders, and other key stakeholders to ensure active participation and buy-in for projects and initiatives.
  • Manage field budgets and resources effectively, ensuring that program funds are used in line with organizational policies and donor requirements. Monitor expenses and prepare financial reports as needed.
  • Ensure consistent monitoring of field activities, tracking progress against key performance indicators (KPIs). Collect and analyze data to report on program outcomes, and recommend adjustments as needed to enhance impact.
  • Identify and address operational challenges, including safety, security, and logistical issues in the field. Develop contingency plans and ensure field staff adhere to safety protocols.
  • Prepare regular reports on field activities, progress, and challenges, and submit to the Program Director/Regional Manager and donors as required. Ensure accurate documentation of project activities and results.
  • Coordinate with local government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and other partners to strengthen collaboration and avoid duplication of efforts. Represent the organization in field-level meetings and coordination forums.
  • Identify capacity gaps within the field team and local partners, and facilitate training and development initiatives to build skills and enhance program effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of experience in field management, preferably within a non-profit organization or in humanitarian settings.
  • Proven experience in managing field-based teams and leading program implementation in remote or challenging environments.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including budgeting, resource allocation, and M&E.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to rapidly changing environments.
