Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Country Director and Regional Director of Policy, Advocacy & Communications to implement a comprehensive strategies.
  • Lead field-based learning and strategy revisions, providing guidance to colleagues.
  • Produce high-quality policy and advocacy documents including talking points, briefing notes, letters, position papers, and reports.
  • Promote evidence-based, principled advocacy and communication approaches internally, ensuring external messaging is rooted in field realities.
  • Alongside country program staff and the regional team, closely track humanitarian policy developments and media coverage, ensuring timely analysis and dissemination of relevant information.
  • Managing staff, budgets, and communication outputs.
  • Directly supervise the Communications Manager, supporting the creation of high-quality content that highlights client needs and organizational achievements.
  • Provide analysis for the Country Director and coordinate inputs for meetings, including key cluster meetings.
  • Represent the organization at humanitarian coordination forums, conferences, lobbying efforts, and other events, or prepare talking points for senior leaders.
  • Respond to external policy inquiries and brief policymakers and the media.
  • Act as a spokesperson, spotlighting key issues affecting clients and advocating for necessary solutions.
  • Provide capacity-building support to field staff and partners, and enhance the ability of national staff to execute effective advocacy strategies.
