Responsibilities

  • Develop & Implement Systems: Establish and deploy EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) systems and tools that align with business needs, OGSM (Objectives, Goals, Strategies, Measures), and legal standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Enhance EHS systems through benchmarking, audits, incident investigations, and adapting to business changes.
  • Sustainability Leadership: Serve as the main reference for Sustainability matters and manage related programs to ensure factory capability development while minimizing risks.
  • Team Development: Support the creation of autonomous teams aligned with EHS capabilities across all levels of the organization.
  • Sustainability Strategy: Contribute to defining the factory's Sustainability strategy linked to Open+/IOS.
  • Role Model: Exemplify Safety/Sustainability practices using the Learn Do Teach approach and lead daily EHS activities in line with defined plans.
  • Coaching & Engagement: Provide coaching to managers/supervisors to drive employee engagement in Sustainability policies and Open+ initiatives.
  • Cultural Awareness: Raise awareness among supervisors and employees to foster a mature safety culture, striving for zero Sustainability incidents.
  • Project Leadership: Lead local project teams, following the Digi Principle and VSU methodology, acting as the link between global product owners and affiliates.
  • Contractor Management: Ensure contractors adopt EHS tools and systems to minimize Sustainability incidents.
  • Waste Reduction: Coordinate programs to reduce waste, emissions, and energy consumption, working toward a carbon-neutral factory.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze usage data, collaborate with departments to identify areas for improvement, and meet environmental KPIs.
  • Risk Management: Implement proactive loss prevention, risk assessments, audits, and emergency plans to mitigate health, safety, and environmental risks.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure factory procedures align with risk profiles, compliance with legal requirements, and continuous improvement.
  • Certification & Safety: Monitor certification of new equipment, ensuring risk reduction and compliance.
  • Project Participation: Provide input on Sustainability requirements for new or revamped projects, including equipment and facilities.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Stay updated on regulatory requirements and new technologies for safety and environmental protection.
  • Contractor Compliance: Ensure contractors meet legal and corporate Sustainability requirements.
  • Health & Safety Collaboration: Work with medical personnel to address workplace health issues.
  • Accident Investigation: Coordinate investigations into incidents, maintain records, and implement preventive measures.
  • Training: Develop Sustainability training modules, assess training needs, and ensure alignment with Zero Loss Journey and Open+ deployment.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain training records for employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure understanding of Sustainability responsibilities.
  • Performance Reporting: Provide timely reports on EHS performance indicators to factory management and regional Sustainability departments.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Test emergency preparedness programs to minimize losses during incidents.
  • Best Practices: Promote internal and external best practices to prevent injuries and environmental harm.
  • Communication & Learning: Ensure effective communication and sharing of lessons learned from accidents, audits, and benchmarking.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor/ Master in Engineering/Science or technical high school diploma. Preferably in environmental/Sustainability/safety engineering or equivalent education.
  • Experience in Sustainability (EHS) in accordance with local legal requirements.
  • 1-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment as a specialist in EHS.
  • Experience in the Implementation of legal requirements and applicable standards such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001.
  • Experience in organizational culture change is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge in Risk Assessment.
  • Ability to Implement/sustain ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001.
